Of course most Knicks fans would agree that the season is over, considering that they have already been put out of playoff contention. The only bright side to this season is that Knicks have a chance at a very high pick this year in the NBA draft. The problem is that with every win the Knicks get there chances of getting a higher pick in the draft decreases. Doesn’t the organization realize this? As a loyal Knicks fan I feel that we should be losing every game from now until the end of the season. Sure most people will say that the team has too much pride to do that, but most of our best players are sitting out most games anyways and thats why people go to watch the Knicks. So why not just invest in the teams actual future, rather than win games that won’t help us in anyway possible? If the Knicks continue to win games it would only hurt them in the long run.
Having a top pick secures people like Lonzo Ball or Markelle Fultz to come in to play with our roster next year, which is a much better option then winning games for the teams “pride”. Even if we do slip to the 5th or 6th pick in the draft, we can still get a star caliber player such as Dennis Smith Jr. out of NC State. But if the Knicks continue to win this season, we could potentially miss out on a future superstar that can change our franchises losing ways and give us a shot at being back in the playoffs. With a record like the one the Knicks had this season, im taking the teams future over the teams pride any day and thats just being smart.
Some people will say that this years draft is one of the deepest in terms of talent that the NBA has had in a long time. This might be true but the fact of the matter is the higher the pick the more options and better talent availability the Knicks will be able to choose from. This years draft for the Knicks will prove crucial to the teams success in the upcoming seasons. With Melo’s future with the Knicks hanging in the balance, the least they can do is do something that will benefit a rebuilding around Kristaps Porzingis. If Melo decides to stay, then the new talent acquired in the draft will only help take off the scoring load on his shoulders. Either way, its a win win situation as long as the Knicks lose. We need the highest pick as possible and the Knicks as a team right now are not helping themselves by winning, so please start LOSING!
This weekend i was able to attend a music festival in Puerto Rico. This was my 4th time attending one of these events and of course it didn’t disappoint. Although the last 3 we great this one was extra special to me. My favorite DJ, Marshmello, was performing at the event that got me started following this music festival scene, along with the people that i love the most. At first when i arrived in Puerto Rico there was some shaky situations we had to get through but once the day the festival hit, all of that anger and hate just disappeared. The reason i love attending music festivals is because it brings everyone together and makes you feel like you are apart of something way bigger than just yourself. The event that we attended was called We The Future, aka WTF, and i went with 2 of my closest friends and my sister. Although we all haven’t had a great relationship in the past, this music festival brought us all together. We partied and had fun until the sun rose listening to one of my favorite DJ’s as he killed his set. The atmosphere throughout the whole thing was ELECTRIC. Everybody in the crowd singing along and having a good time not worrying about any of the outside problems, but rather just being in the moment along with everyone else. It was a day that i will never forget and will cherish for the rest of my life. For those who have not attended a music festival in their life I highly recommend it. Even if you attend it alone you are bound to make new friends in the blink of an eye and feel the friendly environment surrounding you. It is simply life changing!
Being a console player for so many years might have me a bit biased, but what I have to say might actually shock you. I recently acquired a new 2016 macbook pro for college and most people say that this machine was not built to play games on. Although i did mostly purchase this computer to do my work, i didn’t see any harm in at least trying to game on it. Before this purchase, the only computer i had access to was usually my dads desktop which i didnt really have that much freedom on. Because of this i usually played my games on console. These consoles included anything from the Gamecube and Playstation 1, when i was younger, to more recently the Wii U and Playstation 4. The console of choice for me currently is the Playstation 4 and i could not be happier. The Playstation to me has always been reliable and the best thing to play games on. Any game from Call of Duty to Nba 2k runs smooth and there are rarely any problems that i personally encounter when playing these games. I also got to play with my friends and even play in some tournaments to try and earn some money. From all this console gaming experience, i never really gave gaming on a PC a shot. When i was in middle school, usually at the lunch table, there would be a debate between which was better for gaming a console or PC and i always sided with consoles, no questions asked. If this debate happened today it might be a different story. My experience gaming on a PC was very different to say the least, but in a good way. First the graphics, although consoles do have great graphics, when gaming on a PC it’s like night and day. The details and virtual environments have been taken to a whole different level compared to what consoles can do. Also rather than using a standard controller for a console, PC uses your mouse which was a bit of a learning curve for me. Although it takes some time getting used to, i feel that using a mouse might actually be better than a controller depending on the genre. Any FPS like Call of Duty will benefit from using a mouse just from a accuracy standpoint alone. Guarantee that if a PC and console player were put up against each other in the same FPS and had the same skill level, the PC player would win that matchup. Having that free range of motion that the mouse provides rather than static movements used on a controller gives these players a huge advantage. Although ive only had 2 months with my PC, I can see why others may prefer it over a console. I could go on and on about performance differences and specs and fuel the fire of this debate but that is for a different day. Give me more time and i’ll let you know but for right now PC has opened my eyes a bit.
